Lena K. Champlin

Lena K. Champlin is a postdoctoral fellow in the Fulweiler Lab, in the Department of Earth & Environment at Boston University, and funded by the BU Society of Fellows. Lena’s research integrates spatial analysis to quantify ecosystem complexity, historical proxies to contextualize changes in nutrient dynamics over time, and collaborative communication strategies for sharing findings with communities. She bridges these fields to examine how local anthropogenic impacts on coastal ecosystems intersect with global climate change. During her postdoc, Lena is conducting interdisciplinary research on salt marsh blue carbon and communicating coastal science to public audiences through creative and artistic media.
