Martin Melchior
Marty is a river ecologist and geomorphologist with Interfluve, and has been designing river restoration projects for 25 years. Marty pioneered the science of cranberry bog restoration, working with the Town of Plymouth and Mass DER on the first such project, the award winning Eel River restoration. He served as a lead designer of the Tidmarsh Farms restoration, and over the past 10 years has helped to develop techniques for microtopography grading, water management in bog projects, Atlantic white cedar establishment, carnivorous plant restoration and fish habitat in cranberry bog streams. In his spare time, he enjoys playing music, writing fiction, coaching hockey and spending time with his family in Lodi, Wisconsin. Marty considers Plymouth to be his home away from home.
