Sara Sampieri Horvet

Hello! I am a Research Associate and the Analytical Laboratory Manager of the Coastal Systems Program at the UMass Dartmouth School for Marine Science and Technology. I holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies from Providence College and a Master’s Degree in Coastal Systems Science from UMass Dartmouth-SMAST. My primary focus is on water quality and the impact of nutrient enrichment on the habitat health of estuaries and freshwater ponds. I am also an active board member with the Barrington Land Conservation Trust and serve as a volunteer for the Terrapin Conservation Project as well as the Land Trust’s Pollinator Pathway and Education Committees. I am dedicated to protecting and restoring natural habitats so my children and future generations can enjoy the same beautiful places.
