Zenas Crocker
Barnstable Clean Water Coalition Executive Director Zenas “Zee” Crocker grew up on Cape Cod and has ancestral roots in Osterville, Cotuit, and Barnstable. Zee attended Barnstable High School and earned an Honors BA from McGill University in Quebec.
Before taking the helm at Three Bays Preservation, Inc., in April 2017, Zee spent over 30 years in the financial services industry in New York, Boston and Asia. He specialized in Institutional Equities and worked as a Managing Director for Merrill Lynch, NatWest and Credit Lyonnais Securities Asia.
Zee’s extensive travels informed him about our increasingly compromised global environment, especially regarding air and water pollution. This experience led to greater concern regarding local conditions and challenges here on Cape Cod.
Unable to sit still in retirement, Zee agreed to take the helm of Three Bays Preservation. His research on the issues faced and solutions required, led to the board agreeing to rename and repurpose Three Bays to become the Barnstable Clean Water Coalition (BCWC) in June 2017. The Coalition’s new mission: work to restore and preserve clean water in Barnstable.
Zee is most proud of the team that has been built at BCWC and of the Coalition’s partnerships, especially with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the U.S. Geological Survey and The Nature Conservancy.
When he’s not working passionately on clean water issues, Zee enjoys sailing, fishing, travel, and tennis.
