Living Observatory Sensor Network
Live Action
At Tidmarsh we're always keep an eye out for our neighbors, who can be a little odd at times. Here are a few highlights from 2025. You can find more video highlights on our Vimeo page. You can also monitor live footage and audio for the central stream and marsh cameras.
This year we've caught some animals engaging in some rather peculiar behavior.
March 3, Late winter is a hungry time. With all the easy to reach roots and bark picked over, even the game camera might look tasty to a deer. Well, worth a sniff at least.
Okay, there was definitely something strange in the air on May 3. Probably hungry flies. Either that or these animals were just grooving to nature's song.
At first I thought this deer was jumping for joy now that things are greening up. But on second watch, it think it's saying "OWW, somebody bit me!" It appears, the flies are out and hungry.
Check out this Swan doing an impression of Michael Phelps' Butterfly Stroke.
All jokes aside, the Swan in particular looked to be in some bother. Don't worry, we have seen the swan and the deer since and they appear to have resumed normal behavior.
