Camera placements that are far from trails and provide closeups of animals have yielded the most interesting footage

Our initial camera placements at Tidmarsh were framed as wide shots from high vantage points, capturing an overarching view of the site. While over many years this produces great timelapse footage showing macro-scale transformation, the live views are not very interesting and clips of wildlife are few and far between (consisting mostly of insects and the occasional bird).

The Central Stream camera is situated low to the ground and directly overlooks the stream channel. While this narrow framing can seem like a waste of a camera, this by far has captured our most engaging clips of wildlife. The proximity to the stream channel and distance from human activity is great for catching wildlife. The distance from paths and the close-up framing provides a viewpoint that it would be impossible for a visitor to have.
