Living Observatory Community Platform
Living Observatory amplifies the voice of the community
As Learning Collaborative, Living Observatory exists because many people involved in cranberry farm restorations choose to participate. The organization contributes to the restoration of cranberry farmland by
- providing a place for the community to share their stories and data
- helping monitor wetland restoration on these former cranberry farms over the long term (30 years)
- using knowledge gained from monitoring to suggest ways to improve restoration methods
- developing activities that help build a learning culture around these complex projects
- developing programs and projects: sensor networks, web platform, summits, field trips, public displays

Living Observatory is supported by individuals and organizations through grants and contracts. Thank you to everyone who makes up our community.
In 2024 we received a capacity building grant from Golden Rod Foundation which allowed us to contract with Adrian Wiegman as our Learning Coordinator. The timing of this grant occurred just as Brian Mayton was addiing important organizational and learning capabilities to the Living Observatory platform. I want to extend a special thanks from Living Observatory to Bill Abbott and others who were involved in this award.
